the unique blend of Crawatte

Crawatte – a Dutch rock trio that’s been confusing and delighting audiences for over 30 years. Gerben Grooten (drums, vocals), Roel Venderbosch (bass, vocals), and Marc Hijink (guitar, vocals) have been together longer than most people’s houseplants survive. Their secret? A musical style that’s as unpredictable as Dutch weather, creating a unique blend of music, humor and theater.

Their music doesn’t fit into a single genre; instead, they mix various styles, from disco to tango, and even include TV and commercial tunes in their performances. This eclectic approach has helped them create a distinctive, absurd, and adventurous musical playground.

Crawatte’s latest project is a music theater show called “Honger naar Vroeger” (Longing for Yesteryear), which explores themes of friendship and nostalgia through their unique musical style and shared background, growing up in ‘De Achterhoek’ region, dangerously close to the German border. Crawatte continues to perform live, bringing their energetic and humorous shows to audiences across the Netherlands.
